About Calcyuncle

Clear, accurate calculators and plain-English guides for everyday money decisions.

Calcyuncle exists for one reason: big money decisions deserve clear numbers. Whether you are taking a home loan, comparing personal loan offers or deciding what to do with a bonus, you should be able to see the real cost of each option before you commit.

What we build

We build free financial calculators that go further than a single headline number. Our loan calculators show your EMI, the total interest over the life of the loan, a complete month-by-month repayment schedule, and how part payments change the outcome — whether you choose to reduce your EMI or finish the loan sooner.

Alongside the calculators we publish practical guides that explain the ideas behind the numbers in plain English.

How our calculators work

  • Standard methods. Loan calculators use the monthly reducing-balance method used by most Indian banks and housing finance companies.
  • Every instalment calculated. We do not estimate later years — the full schedule is computed month by month, and the final instalment is adjusted so the loan closes at exactly zero.
  • Tested. The calculation engine has automated tests covering zero-interest loans, very long and very short tenures, large and small amounts, and single and multiple part payments.
  • Private. Calculations run in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us or stored.

What we are not

Calcyuncle is not a bank, lender or financial adviser, and we do not sell loans. Our tools and articles are for information and education. For decisions about your own situation, please talk to your lender or a qualified adviser. See our disclaimer.
